The African Water Facility (AWF) is an initiative of the African Minister's Council on Water (AMCOW), The AWF is hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB). The organization is aimed at mobilizing resources to finance water resources development activities in Africa. Kordjé Bedoumra, the director of AWF was appointed by the AfDB’s President. He manages a small team of water and sanitation experts at AfDB’s premises in Tunis, Tunisia.

Funds for water projects are contributed by Austria, Canada, EU, France and Norway (representing also Sweden and Denmark).
