Bottled water is water that has been commercially bottled, usually in small plastic bottles. It is only as good as its source, which, in most cases, is no better than tap water.[1] Thus, once a suitable container is obtained, bottled water may be refilled from any suitable source. After increasing sales for years, sales of bottled water began to fall off in the United States in 2008 as consumers began to use tap water more. Globally growth in sales remained strong.[2]
