The Ouagadougou Water Supply Project, also called the Ziga Dam or Ziga Project is a water project financed by the World Bank and others. Scheduled for completion in 2006, it would provide water for Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The dam is located on the Nakambe River (White Volta) in the Volta Basin. There has been a large flux of people into the two large cities, Ouagadougou, the capital, and Bobo Dioulasso with large numbers settling in areas outside the water and sanitation service areas.
