Medha Patkar is an eminent social activist from India. As the leader of Narmada Bachao Andolan, she along with Baba Amte, tribal activists, environmentalists and human rights activists, spearheaded the movement against Sardar Sarovar Dam being built across the Narmada River in Gujarat, India. She is one of the recipients of Right Livelihood Award for the year 1991.
