Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority, is one of the agencies which regulates the water and sewerage industry in England and Wales. During the global financial crisis of 2008 rates came under pressure from consumers asking that rates remain low on one hand and, on the other, the companies seeking to cover additional costs of borrowing for expansion plans.[1]
